Architectural experience emerged as a key concept in architectural theory and design in the second half of the eighteenth century. In this course we will examine this concept in multiple texts, designs, and buildings, in Paris and London. We will explore experiences of architecture and the city in observations of buildings, in theories and architectural critique, in teachings at the academies, and in urban and architectural designs.
